NAOE’s Aoharu x Machinegun manga series has been quite a successful project for its publishers. It serialized for almost seven years and ruled the hearts of its readers. However, despite its popularity, the manga series ended back in August 2019. Well, this might affect the future of its anime adaptation. Aoharu x Machinegun, also known as Aoharu x Kikanjuu, originated as a manga series written and illustrated by NAOE. It began serialization in Gangan Comics’ shounen manga magazine from June 2012 and was later launched as a full-fledged series in 2013. A few years later, the manga inspired an anime adaptation produced by famous animation studio Brian’s Base. The television series aired in Japan between July and September 2015. The episodes reached the international audience through Sentai Filmworks and AnimeLab.
Aoharu x Machinegun Season 2: Renewed Or Canceled
The first season of this action-comedy anime ended with a major cliffhanger. Since its last air in September 2015, fans have been keen to know what happens next in the story. Hence, with every passing day, the demand for another season is going out of hand. Sadly, Brian’s Base is yet to renew the much-awaited sequel. However, that doesn’t assure its cancelation either.
Unlike most US television shows, anime series tend to take longer to return. In fact, some of them can have hiatuses as long as four to five years. The first season of Aoharu x Kikanjuu anime covers less than five volumes of its source material. Whereas, NAOE’s popular manga has a total of eighteen volumes. Hence, there is still enough content left for Aoharu x Machinegun Season 2. In fact, there are enough manga volumes left for a third and fourth season (only if they get renewed).

For the last five years, fans of the anime are waiting for the second season. However, the sequel is yet to get the green light from its producers.
