This means that the events that took place in the midst of the leap are going to be a part of the series. The show will display the world of 2032 Los Angeles.

An interview with the staff of the anime revealed that the story would be based on the themes of dystopia. The show is heavily inspired by Philip K. Dick’s novel, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.
