In 2020, the announcement of the Blade Runner Black Lotus anime made all the hype. After four feature films, three short films, and multiple video game releases, the franchise is about to enter the anime industry. The venture is a collaboration between Crunchyroll, Adult Swim, and Alcon Entertainment at the Sola Digital Arts studios. The franchise has been up and running since 1968 in the form of an original novel by Philip K. Dick. Later, the story saw many reboots in films and games.

Blade Runner Black Lotus Anime: Sneak Peeks
Earlier in July 2020, the creators announced that the Blade Runner anime. Both Crunchyroll and Adult Swim came out with the revelation, along with some sneak peeks from the upcoming show. On top of that, Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama, who are the directors of the show, gave us a release slate of 2021. Now, things are finally unfolding as we approach the release. Production Details!
For now, the producers haven’t revealed the official list of the Black Lotus anime’s cast members. Only the team names working on the project are out. The anime adaptation will follow the storyline from the original Blade Runner 2049 and the Blade Runner film. The show is a collaborative effort by Adult Swim and Crunchyroll. Moreover, Alcon Entertainment is responsible for the production of the show.
For a start, Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama will be the directors for the show. Next, we can expect to see Shinichiro Watanabe, who is famous for his work in Cowboy Bebop as the creative producer. Other details are still not out, but we promise to update them as soon as they arrive.
Blade Runner Black Lotus Anime: Release Date
While the press release by Corus Entertainment states the tentative premiere date of the show, we do not have a definite release date just yet. The press note only says that the show is set to come out this Fall. Hence, the much-awaited anime adaptation will likely arrive sometime around September to November 2021. Moreover, Adult Swim will be airing the 13-episode show in Canada. We will update this section as soon as the makers announce a solid release date.
