However, you don’t need to fret. This is because Bruno Danzel d’Aumont revealed about the potential anime series. He also revealed that the anime series would soon return to your screen. Excited! Final Fantasy 9 started as a role-playing video game launched back in 2000. The plot focused on a war between the nations of Gaia, a medieval fantasy world. A thief named Zidane Tribal kidnaps Garnet Til Alexandros XVII to fulfill the orders of Lindblum. However, later he joins Garnet and the other members to take down Queen Brahne of Alexandria.
Final Fantasy 9: Official Announcement Teases Its Return!
Back in 2021, the animation studio Square Enix and Cyber Group Studios announced that Final Fantasy 9 would return. However, it’s been a year since fans hadn’t learned anything about the anime series. But recently, Bruno sat down with Animation Magazine and revealed that they would present a work like this for the first time. Cyber Group’s VP of marketing and international licensing said that they were excited about the licensing opportunities of the next outing.
They will reveal the anime series status at the Licensing Expo in Las Vegas, which will take place from May 24 to 26. Bruno added that he was glad to have this opportunity to share their upcoming plans with their agents, licensees, and new partners. Further, he announced that they were also working on four different shows, including Final Fantasy 9. These shows include The McFire Family, Digital Girl, and Press Start.
During this interview, Bruno added that the show would target viewers ages 8 to 13. Well, it leads fans to worry as the original source material dealt with plenty of heavy subjects. So it would be thrilling to see how they will manage to stick to the source material. It will be challenging for them, and we can expect that it will give a satisfactory conclusion to the show.
Final Fantasy 9: When Production Will Begin?
As of now, the studio has only shared that the much-awaited anime is on its way. But, we can expect that the anime will soon undergo production. It was initially set to start making in early 2021. But it never happened. So we expect that it will start production in mid-2022. Further, Bruno shared that the design will be closer to its earlier game series in Final Fantasy 7, 8, and 9.
Final Fantasy 9: Release Date
As of now, the project has yet to undergo production. The anime series generally takes 10 to 12 months to wrap up making. Further, the post-production work would also take some months to wrap up.
