Walter only had one point that Vargases attacked the king because they were loyal to the Carmine. But the truth was Souma himself was appointed by the previous king.
The story took a serious tone when Souma ordered the killing of all the nobles who were in favor of leaving the prisoners. A gore scene followed this order.
