How Strong Is Naruto Without Kurama | Fan’s Guide

Naruto

The titular question has been a topic of debate for fans for a long time. While many fans believe that Kurama was the only source of power for Naruto, others tend to disagree. Many theories and speculations regarding the same fill the discussion pages of Reddit and Twitter. However, there has been no measure of Naruto’s power degradation without Kurama. Better known as Nine Tails, Kurama has been with Naruto since he was an infant. After losing the beast, how strong really is Naruto? Let’s analyze this question in detail.

Kurama has been the legend animal in the Naruto universe that has been a beacon of power and hope for centuries. The nine-tailed creature was infused with Naruto for a long time. However, for years, the world has believed it to be a mindless beast that can be an unlimited source of power and strength. This has caused the beast to develop special hate for humans. However, it was only Naruto who believed that Kurama was more than the beast that the world deemed it to be. Thus, he was the only one who stood by his favor and asked people to treat it with dignity.

How Did Kurama Seal Within Naruto?

Kuruma was sealed within Naruto for the good of humanity. His mother and father fought in the Third Great War of the Shinobi only to learn that humanity cannot be handed the power of a Kurama. Thus, they took back the beast to their homeland. However, Tobi overtook the beast yet again and released the chakra seal that was holding it back. He then ordered the beast to ravage humans and shinobi. While Minato and Mito took down Tobi, they could not contain the wrath of Nine Tails. Thus, Mito used her powers and transported the beast to a secluded village.

In the Uzumaki residence, Kushina (Mito’s sister) alleged that even if they seal the beast using chakras, someone like Tobi will reappear and free the monster. Thus, Mito offered to use her infant son as a vessel. However, the powers of Kurama were too strong to be held by an infant. Thus, Kushina separated Yin and Yang of Kurama and tapped Yang Kurama within Naruto. Thus, the boy grew up with the leaking powers of Nine-Tails within him.

Losing Kurama Made Naruto Weaker?

However, during his battle with Isshiki Otsutsuki, Naruto overused his powers that broke the seal and set free Kurama. As the beast was free, Naruto lost all the powers that were growing within him. On the bright side, it is believed that the presence of the beast left many chakras within him. Thus, Naruto still contains a large portion of Kurama’s powers even if the beast no longer resided within him.

Naruto still possesses many powers and techniques that came to him along with Kurama. One of the strongest powers that the creature left within him is the Sage Mode. Using the Senjustu Chakra, Naruto could tap into any natural force, including the powers of Wind and Thunder. Moreover, this power was topped by Hagoromo Otsutsuki’s chakras. The Six Paths powers came to him when Yang-Kurama was still with him. While he can still access the power, he only has half the power of this chakra.

Naruto’s Powers After Kurama’s Death

One of the biggest weaknesses that came with the departure of Kurama was losing the sense of feeling emotions. The Yang-Kurama enabled the boy to sense and navigate negative emotions like anger, grief, and fear. This helped him as much in combat to play mental games. However, now that he could not sense these emotions, he lost the real touch in battles and close combats.

Finally, Kurama’s loss definitely brought many changes within Naruto. The strong beast not only equipped Naruto with strong powers but also crowned him with strong wits. The difference in his fights was immediately noticeable when Kurama left. However, the final argument that still names Naruto one of the strongest warriors in the world is the fact that he is the reincarnation of Asura Otsutsuki. The ninja is already adorned with the blood of the Uzumaki Clan. On top of that, Kurama’s chakras still reside within him.

Lastly, Asura’s blood makes him the strongest warrior to have ever taken birth. Yes, he is weaker without Kurama. But weaker than who is the real question.
