So, the film depicts Yuta Okkutsu and his story before his final introduction in the manga after the Culling Game arc.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie has been dominating the Japanese theatres since its release. In just 11 days since its premiere on December 24, the film has surpassed 5 billion yen at the box office. This is not all since the movie has been breaking previous records since its first day. The flick collected a whopping 2,694,128,150 yen in its first three days. It also topped the charts for its opening weekend.
So to commemorate the huge hit, the makers have posted a new poster of Yuta. The visual was released for the adaption of Gege Akatumi’s manga. The movie is a prequel to the hit debut series JJK. It focuses on Yuta that came into the scene long before fan favorites Yuji, Nobara, or Megumi. And serves as one of the biggest hits in the anime industry.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Movie Reaches Demon Slayer Mugen Train Earnings!
As of January 3, 2022, the movie has made 5,873,064,900 yen (US$51.01 million). The huge numbers have surpassed a series of hits. It is notable that only seven other films have achieved this milestone in under two weeks. This includes Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle, the first two films of the Harry Potter franchise, The Matrix Reloaded, and the recent hit Demon Slayer Mugen Train.
So, the film is reaching heights, and Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time 14th-day mark is next in line. It is predicted that the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 movie will surpass the 6 billion mark by its 14th day. Toho has also stated that the film is likely to exceed the 10 billion yen (US$87.43 million) at the theatres. In addition, if the movie stays till the end of January and February, then it would exceed 15 billion yen (US$129.61 million) or more.
Will It Release In International Theatres?
The movie is a work of Studio Mappa‘s animation and receives its direction from Sunghoo Park. While Toho has been distributing the film in Japan across 418 theatres which includes 39 IMAX theatres. Now, the film has gained the second biggest opening of the season, just behind 2020’s Demon Slayer Mugen Train. The latter had crossed every chartbuster and became a hit to remember in the anime industry.
However, no news of a release in the overseas theatres has been out. Initially, the release in the international theatres was put off because of COVID guidelines. So, the news is yet to reach the fans of the franchise outside of Japan.
