Fans are used to at least ‘K Project’ anime project releasing every two to three years. The most recent one, called K: Seven Stories, came out in 2018. Hence, we might get to watch another anime project anytime soon. The demand for K Project Season 3 has been increasing with every passing year. However, Studio GoHands is yet to wave the green flag. Will it ever return? What’s in the future of the popular franchise? Here are all the details you need to know.
K Project, also known as ‘K,’ is an original anime series created by GoRA, a group consisting of seven anonymous authors and produced by Studio GoHands. Directed by Shingo Suzuki, the action sci-fi venture debuted on Japanese television back in October 2012. Its popularity led to the renewal of an anime movie in 2014 featuring a side story. Eventually, following the franchise’s success, the studio released a second season called K: Return Of Kings in October 2015. Lastly, a seven-part movie series premiered between July and December 2018.
K Project Season 3: Renewed Or Canceled?
As of now, GoHands is yet to announce the anime’s third season. Well, soon after Season 2’s release, the studio officially confirmed that the story of the anime series is complete. Hence, they might not produce K Project Season 3 anymore. However, despite the claim, they released a movie series in 2018. The seven-part movie series called K: Seven Stories is actually a spin-off venture of the 2014 anime film called K: Missing Kings.
Given that the studio has already gone back on their word, they might as well release another anime project in the coming year. However, the new project might be another spin-off movie or series instead of K Project Season 3. Well, as long as the franchise is running, fans might not have a problem with the same. We will update this section once GoHands announces another ‘K’ project.
What Will The New Season Be About?
Well, the new season can either be a spin-off anime series or another anime movie. Given that the original series’s plot has already ended (in Season 2), the new project might continue the story after K: Seven Stories movie series. On the other hand, it can also be based on an entirely new storyline related to the main plot. Since K Project is an original anime, the renewal and story solely depend on its writers, i.e., GoRA, in this case.
K Project Season 3: Release Date
Well, chances for the renewal of K Project Season 3 are relatively low. However, in an unsuitable situation, if the studio ever confirms the sequel, it might premiere in a couple of years. Yet, the third season still might not release anytime sooner than 2023. On the other hand, a spin-off movie or series will likely arrive earlier than that. At the earliest, fans might be able to watch a new ‘K’ project around late 2021 or early 2022. We will update this section with official release dates as soon as they come out.
