Episode 3 of Kaguya-Sama Love Is War Season 3 opened with Nagisa telling all the students of the Council that she suspected her boyfriend of cheating on her with Maki. Thus, she hires a private spy to keep an eye on the two of them. At the start, it did seem like they were trying to hide something. But eventually, it turned out that he was only planning a six-month anniversary gift for Nagisa. On the other day, Miyuki and Ishigami come to meet Maki.
This was the first time that they learned that Maki was the second cousin of Kaguya. Thus, she was as much a part of the Shinomiya family as Kaguya was. Believing that these two were trustable, Maki tells them that she did really like Nagisa’s boyfriend. Kaguya overheard this conversation and asked Chika about this. In the final act of the episode, all of them play a game of truth and dare where Kaguya comes to know Miyuki’s date with another girl.
