The Kingdom series is a historical manga series about the Warring States period of China. However, the story is fictional despite the author using a number of real names. The story is about two orphans, Xin and Piao. Both of them lost their parents due to the war, and they worked as servants in a small village in the Kingdom of Qin. One day the king’s men come for Piao and take him to the palace. After a few months, he escapes and tells Xin to leave the village. This gives him a chance to start a military life, and he aims to become the greatest general under the heavens in China.
