The official Twitter account of Moriarty The Patriot anime announced an additional two-episode original video anime (OVA) to its franchise. After the success of the first season, a sequel is likely in talks. The producers announced that Moriarty The Patriot OVA episodes will be based on the chapters from the manga. The TV anime adaption focuses on Sherlock’s arc nemesis Moriarty’s youth years. Which story will the two episodes tell? Here are the details fans need to know.
Ryōsuke Takeuchi and Hikaru Miyoshi’s Moriarty the Patriot (Yūkoku no Moriarty) is a 2016 manga series. It receives its TV anime adaption under the direction of Kazuya Nomura. The Japanese mystery manga series has had 26 episodes so far. The last episode, “The Final Problem Act 2,” ends with the characters finally moving on. Sherlock also survives and locates William in Switzerland. Fans are excited about the plot of OVA episodes.
Moriarty The Patriot OVA Will Have Two Episodes
The official website for Moriarty The Patriot anime announced a two-episode OVA project. It was made public on Friday, and more exciting news followed. It was revealed that episodes would release next year. Additionally, a Blu-Ray Disc and DVD will also be a part of the release. It will contain two exclusive mini character illustration sheets. Moreover, an eight-page booklet in a sleeve case character designed by Tooru Ookubo will also be part of the package.
The first episode, “Yuri no Tsuioku,” aka Recollection of Lily, will have an original story, i.e., not a part of the manga. The story will involve a popular painter’s work getting defaced in Bath. The Bath is a British city known for its Roman Baths. “Moriarty-ke no Kyūjitsu,” aka Moriarty Family Holiday, is the second episode. It is a manga adaption of the same name.

When Will A Sequel Release?
With the first season being such a success, a sequel is already in the talks. The anime gained a huge fan base just days after its release. However, makers have their lips tied about the sequel. The anime series has an 8.22 score on MyAnimeList. And an 8.1 score out of 10 on IMDb. Seeing the hype of the anime, producers won’t hesitate to renew the show. But for now, fans have to wait as the renewal has not been announced. A release date is also not out in the public domain just. However, a late 2022 release is being speculated by the fans.
Moriarty The Patriot OVA: Release Date
Before the late April home video release, the first episode will premiere on March 5, 2022, exclusive for the fans in Japan. The premiere venue is Nakano Sun Plaza in Tokyo.
