My Clueless First Friend manga by Taku Kawamura is getting an anime adaptation. A new website and the official Twitter handle for the anime reveal more information. My Clueless First Friend is a high school slice-of-life comedy manga. Also, visuals and teaser videos have also been released. Taku Kawamura is popular for his Kakegurui Kakkokari spin-off manga. Thus, he has experience in making cutesy characters and dialogues. So, here is all you need to know about My Clueless First Friend Anime.
Kawamura launched the manga in Square Enix’s Gangan Joker magazine in May 2018. The 13th compiled volume of the manga will be published on November 22, 2022. It is also being translated into English by Square Enix. The first English volume will release on March 7, 2023, and the second volume on June 6, 2023.

Signpost studio is animating the project. Chikashi Kadekaru is in charge of character design. Takafumi Hoshikawa and Shogo Yasukawa are writing the scripts. Toshio Masuda is doing the sound design for the anime. The website also unveiled the voice actors for the main duo. Konomi Kohara will be providing her voice as Akane Nishimura. Shizuka Ishigami is voicing Taiyō Takada.
The website has also unveiled a teaser video for the anime. The teaser shows exactly how the story pans out. Nishimura is a gloomy girl and, therefore, has no friends and is an outcast. Takada, on the other hand, is an airhead with a good heart. You can check the teaser right here:
What Is The Plot About?
Akane Nishimura is a girl who is picked on by most of her classmates. She has a gloomy look and, coupled with her difficulty socializing, makes her an easy target for relentless bullying. However, this all stops one day when a jolly classmate transfers to this fifth-grade class. Taiyo Takada is clueless by nature and has a good heart. His presence starts to make Nishimura come out of her shell. It is a story about how two opposites attract.
The duo enjoys a happening summer together, and their friendship starts to blossom. They have many experiences, such as a fireworks festival, flower picking, etc. In all this, they realize the truly important things in life- All while having fun! The anime will be making its debut in 2023, as per the current update. As of now, there is no exact release date available as of now. However, It is suspected to release in the fall 2023 anime season. We will be sure to update this section in case of any intel.
