Back in 2016, Studio Deen impressed the world with Reikenzan: Hoshikuzu-tachi no Utage anime series. Due to its popularity, the Chinese animated series was greenlit for another run within a year. Well, since both the installments were successful, fans assumed that they might get a third season sometime soon. However, it has already been three years, and the studio is yet to renew Reikenzan Season 3. Will it ever come out? What are the chances of its return? Reikenzan: Hoshikuzu-tachi no Utage is an anime adaptation of the popular Chinese web novel Congqian Youzuo Lingjianshan. Written by Guowang Bixia, the manhua version of the xianxia web novel was hosted on the Tencent comics portal from 2014. Within no time, the franchise became popular all around the globe. Hence, in 2016, Studio Deen picked up the story for an anime adaptation. A year later, the studio aired the second season between January and March 2017. Ever since, fans are still waiting for the series’ return.
Reikenzan Season 3: Renewal Updates
The first season of the famous Chinese anime gained much popularity in China, Japan, and several parts of the world as well. The series was mainly appreciated for its humor and animation. However, when the second season called Reikenzan: Eichi e no Shikaku released, viewers had a lot to complain about. They pointed out that the animation and art style of the series was totally changed. Moreover, some viewers were upset that the series had much more gore than before. Well, despite the criticism, the sequel attracted many fans and became a hit like the first season.
Even today, after three years of the anime’s last release, the franchise is quite popular amongst the masses. Yet, despite heavy-demands, the studio has not renewed Reikenzan Season 3. Well, anime series tend to take much longer to return as compared to other television shows. In fact, even well-known names such as One-Punch Man and Attack On Titan had well over four-year-long gaps between seasons. Cong Qian You Zuo Jian Shan TV Series Released In 2019
Not a lot of Reikenzan fans know that a television series based on the Congqian Youzuo Lingjianshan web novel (manhua) premiered back in 2019. Popularly known as ‘Once Upon A Time In Lingjian Mountain,’ the show aired for a total of 37 episodes. Since it adapts the same source material, its storyline is almost the same as that of the Reikenzan anime. Well, since the series released only recently, another Cong Qian You Zuo Jian Shan project might take a few years to hit the screens. Hence, Studio Deen is likely to renew Reikenzan Season 3 anytime soon.
Reikenzan Season 3: Release Date
As of now, neither of the companies related to the anime’s production is yet to confirm the third season. However, considering that at least one Congqian Youzuo Lingjianshan project release every other year, Reikenzan Season 3 might get the green light anytime soon. Once it is renewed, Studio Deen will likely take a year for the production of the episodes. Hence, currently, an early 2022 release date seems the most likely.
