RWBY is an American anime-style animated show created by Monty Oum and produced by Rooster Teeth. The series debuted back in July 2013 and has continued to air for eight seasons (Volumes), as of November 2020. Since its premiere, the web series has continued to impress fans and critics from all around the globe. The 12-episode fourth volume broadcasted between October 2016 and February 2017.
Synopsis
For those who don’t know, the story of the anime centers around four teenage girls, Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang, forming the team RWBY. In a world filled with supernatural forces, the girls train to fight shadowy creatures called Grimm.
The fourth volume lands us several months after the Fall Of Beacon while Remnant is still recovering. The previous volume had split up Team RWBY, hence each of them now faces a journey of their own. Many of them are still trying to move on from what happened in the last season. Whereas, others have will venture out into the world in search of answers. As the journeys begin, our favorite characters come across several new friends and enemies in RWBY Volume 4.
Is RWBY Volume 4 Worth The Watch?
It indeed is. Well, RWBY Volume 4 may not be the best season of the show, but it sure is an entertaining one. A lot of things have changed since the last installment, including the tone. This time, all four of the main characters had their separate journeys, hence stories. Weiss’s story was one of the strongest amongst the rest, and it was interesting to watch Ruby and Blake take the turns that they did. However, Yang’s storyline felt relatively weak as compared to the others, considering that she arguably suffered the most. The animation style and quality are still top-notch, given that it’s still produced by Rooster Teeth.
The installment introduced several new characters, out of which not many lived up to the expectations. However, some of these new characters are memorable and spice up the overall mood of the volume. On the other hand, viewers complained that the initial tone of the has changed. RWBY started off as a fun and simplistic show, but now it has become much darker than any of us expected. Well, that’s how the story is now, and even though it has changed, it’s still worth the watch. Overall, RWBY Volume 4 had its fair share of great moments that set up an exciting premise for the upcoming volume.
