Sailor Moon Crystal

Netflix

Once again, Netflix is ready with new ventures to bring new anime series and movies to the platform. Along with original shows, the company is also trying to license classic anime projects to engage audiences. In the same chain, the streamer is now ready with the entire Sailor Moon franchise. That’s right! Before this, Netflix only listed the two Sailor Moon Eternal films. However, now Sailor Moon Crystal will also debut on the platform.

Sailor Moon is a popular Japanese shojo manga written by Naoko Takeuchi. The text has a name for the themes of supernatural and magic. The manga ran from 1991 to 1997. While the first anime series from 1992 was decently popular, the 2014 Sailor Moon Crystal became a cult. This three-season television series was followed by two feature films by Toei Animation and Studio Deen. The 2021 films were also huge successes at the box office. So, when will Netflix be streaming the anime? Here is everything that you need to know.

Netflix Licenses Sailor Moon Anime

After taking over the two-part film for their platform, Netflix is now ready to bring the original anime series to the same space. The announcement comes through the official social media handles of Netflix that confirms that Sailor Moon Crystal anime will be coming to the streamer very soon. Moreover, the streaming giant has been displaying the film franchise since June 3, 2021.

Since the films are gaining massive viewership on the platform since June, it seems likely for the company to join hands with Toei Animation and Studio Deen to license the anime. Before this, Viz Media officially handled the distribution of Sailor Moon Crystal anime. Now, the project has been taken over by another western giant.
