Later Akira talked about the sword to Ichibanoshi, revealing that he felt immense power surging inside him when his sword started glowing. Todo believed this might happen because Commander Kondo Isami had lent his strength to him. Later he talked about the story that took place on August 18 when the government changed. Soon we saw a flashback where Todo saw everyone trying to kill the commander and went inside the palace. But the commander killed everyone.
Later the commander attacked Todo, but he succeeded in killing the commander. As soon as Kondo Isami died, his soul was distributed into four segments and entered the four different swords. Later it shifted to Sakuya’s flashback when he was younger, and his father used to abuse his mother. This is why Sakuya was so serious even at such a young age. Later the group got their first job to escort Sakuma Shozan, and soon, Shozan and Gyataro bond closer.
