The official website of Space Battleship Yamato 2205 has revealed information about a new sequel film. The staff of the anime films made the announcement on January 19, 2022. The next film will be ‘Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199’. It is the remake of the 1980 film of the same name. Be Forever Yamato will serve as a sequel to SBY 2205: The New Voyage, Kosho STASHA.
Furthermore, the website announced that there would be gifts for everyone watching the second movie in theatres. So, the makers are giving gifts in the first four weeks of the release of the Kosho STASHA movie. The gifts will include character designs, sketches from the movies, and more. A preview of the sketches is available on the official website of the franchise.
Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199, Plot Details!
The third film, Rebel 3199, will follow the events of the 1980 Be Forever Yamato film. The film will continue the war between The Black Nebula Empire and Earth. The Black Nebula empire begins invading Earth and destroying most of its Space Fleet. To prevent the planet from counterattacking, they set up a powerful bomb. The invaders threaten to blow up Earth if they retaliate. The Yamato crew are sent to infiltrate the Black Nebulan Empire and disable the bomb.
Scaldart, a Black Nebulan, tricks the Yamato crew into believing that Dezarium is the future Earth. However, the crew soon finds out the truth and returns to investigate the planet. After confirming it is Dezarium, the crew devises a plan to destroy the empire. On Earth, with the help of a kind Black Nebulan Lietunant Alphon, Yuki disables the bomb and informs the crew. After dealing with the hostile planet, the crew speeds up to return home.
Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199 Release Date
As of now, there have been no announcements regarding the release date. The franchise has not updated any information regarding the third film. However, the anime is expected to be in its first stages of production. Thus, an anime film requires at least a year to complete.
