The opening scene of the first episode was about the introduction of two friends, namely, Setsu and Yuuhi. And all of their classmates alike were called upon to another world. And so, we see that Setsu managed to fight a big monster in the first entry itself.
Later on, he was able to detect that there was some strange magical trace within these creatures.
