Illustrated by abec and written by Reki Kawahara, Sword Art Online is a Japanese light novel series. The series is set in the near future and mainly focuses on leads Kazuto “Kirito” Kirigaya and Asuna Yuuki, as they play through multiple virtual reality worlds. The anime television series based on this novel was produced by A-1 Pictures, known simply as Sword Art Online. It was first aired in Japan in 2012 between July and December.
However, due to the global pandemic situation, one of the first anime shows to get postponed was Sword Art Online’s new Season, Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld. Even though this was disappointing for most fans as they have been waiting patiently for the release of season 3. But now their wait is over!
It has been in the news that Sword Art Online will be returning to the television in about a month. Plus the anime has had an ample amount of time to figure out how season 3 will bring twist in the story.
The information comes from Japan that the user AIR News translated the TV listings for fans. It is expected now that the season will return on 11 July, so fans won’t have to wait much! On the other hand, even though fans expect the anime to be simulcast, there are doubts about the anime’s simuldub.
Why wouldn’t they have their doubts? Dubbing has become a real challenge because of the global pandemic situation. To prevent the spread of this illness, the best thing to practice is social distancing. Consequently, recording studios have been shut down. As a result, many actors have to work from home by making in-home studios.
Unfortunately, there has been no announcement regarding how Sword Art Online will be handled. Even then, fans are positive that the third season will be released as presumed next month.
Originally, the show was set to be released on April 25 but the debut date was forced to be changed. The anime show’s team has claimed that the show will be released in summer if things went well.
