Is Trese Anime coming to Netflix? In the venture to enter the anime market, Netflix is joining hands with local stories from around the world. This time, the studio tier of the streaming service is bringing a popular Superhero from the Philippines to a world stage- Trese. Netflix is all set to create its own anime adaptation of the popular story of Trese.

The story originated from a popular manga from Filipino Komik that is written by Budjette Tan and created by Kajo Baldisimo. The story is based on the themes of horror and crime thrillers. The manga started serialization back in 2005, and the story still continues to follow. Trese has over 13 main volumes along with nine collectors’ editions. So, what is Netflix up to? Trese Anime: Trailer & Plot Details

The announcement of the Trese anime adaptation came through a direct trailer release from Netflix. Before this, the production details were revealed back in 2018 at the See What’s Next Asia event by Netflix. The trailer successfully introduces us to the world of this Filipino manga. The small clip begins with a city under fear of mysterious creatures. Now, Alexandra Trese, who is an investigator, must find out who is behind these killings. The trailer, in all senses, is dark and gritty. Netflix makes it clear that this show is not for the faint-hearted.

According to the official synopsis, the plot of Trese anime is set in the land of Manila, where strange killings are happening. Now, detective Alexandra Trese must look for the beings that are behind the murders. But she comes across a network of underworld creatures that are on a bigger mission. How will humanity save itself? We will find out only when the show comes out.

Cast Reveal

Along with the trailer, both English and Filipino cast names were revealed. We will take a look at the cast that will be dubbing the English version. For the titular role of Alexandra Trese, Shay Mitchell will be joining the team. Additionally, Griffith Puatu is cast for the role of The Kambal. Matt Yang King and Jon Jon Briones are playing the part of Dominic and Hank, respectively. Moreover, Steve Blum and Carlos Alazraqui will be voicing Datu and Anton, reports CBR. Thus, all these able faces are proof enough the Trese anime is all set to become a hit on Netflix.

Trese Anime: Release Date

The Netflix venture for the award-winning Trese anime series is all set to debut next month. Therefore, the show will be up for global streaming on June 11, 2021.
