Urusei Yatsura Episode 4: What Will Happen Next?
The following episode, titled “Sealed With A Kiss,” hints that Mendo and Ataru’s fight will continue. Well, Ataru thinks something romantically is going on between Shinobu and Mendo. But in reality, Mendo is more into Lum and wants to be with her, while Lum has another level of affection for Ataru, who likes Shinobu. So now, the twisting plotline will continue to create jealousy among the lead characters.
However, Mendo’s flirtatious behavior will help him win Shinobu’s heart, pushing him away from Lum. But he will keep on approaching Lum. Soon he will realize that Ataru can be a good help as Lum mostly stays with him. It will be a relief for Ataru when he learns Mendo is into Lum. But he needs to map a grand plan to show Shinobu that Mendo is not a good person. So they will meet at the rooftop of their school, where Mendo accidentally kisses Lum, and Shinobu will see everything from behind, sobbing on Ataru’s shoulder.

The third episode of Urusei Yatsura opened up with Shutaro Mendo’s first day at Tomobiki High School. Mendo was planning a dramatic entrance as he leaped out of the plane when they arrived at the building’s rooftop. At the school, Shinobu chased Ataru and Lum as she was tired of Lum. So she threw a desk at Ataru, but it broke a window, and everyone noticed Mendo clinging to it. Soon Shinobu approached and apologized. But she started developing feelings for him. Later, Mendo saw Ataru with Shinobu and started flirting with her, pissing Ataru off.
Ataru learned that Shinobu liked Mendo, who met with Lum and developed feelings for her. Soon their homeroom teacher announced about holding elections. In the nick of time, Mendo declared that he wanted to run for candidacy. However, he planned to punish slackers with the most brutal punishments. But he exempted females, angering his male mates. So they decided Ataru to run against Mendo. Ataru won the election easily. The next day, everyone went on a field trip where Ataru and Mendo played along to win their girls’ hearts. But it ended up revealing Mendo’s weakness.
