Why Nezuko Could Not Talk As A Demon?

Instead, it was the fact that she could not control her powers and wore the bamboo muzzle that kept her from speaking. In the Swordsmith Village Arc that is yet to be animated, there is one point in the story where Nezuko had to speak to Tanjiro in order to convince him that she was safe and sound.

At the time of the Swordsmith Village Arc of the story, Tanjiro gets into a life or death situation with Upper-Rank Four demon Hantengu. After killing the demon, a saddened Tanjiro rushes off to see where Nezuko was. But what he saw brought literal tears to his eyes. Nezuko was standing in the sun smiling at him. She was not wearing her muzzle at that time.

Why Was Nezuko Silent All This While?
