After three consecutive delays due to the ongoing pandemic, the makers of Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop are finally ready to release the anime film digitally. As one can expect, the global streaming giant Netflix has joined hands with Signal MD and Sublimation to lend its platform. The latest trailer on YouTube reveals a new and final release date of the much-anticipated romance drama.

WBULSP has been facing delays in the release since May 2020. Previously, a June 2020 theatrical premiere was confirmed last year. But the emergencies in Japan pushed the project further ahead. Now, it looks like the makers do not want to keep the product shelved anymore. Thus, a new release date is finally out, along with the latest trailer. The official synopsis from Netflix describes the show to be a coming-of-age romance drama. Well, both of the leading characters deal with physical communication disabilities. Cherry is a shy and introverted boy who wears headphones at all times. Moreover, the only way he can talk to someone is by saying haiku poems. One summer with his parents, he meets a strange girl who instantly connects with him. Smile always wears a mask to avoid socializing with other people.

Cast And Crew

All details regarding the team members of the upcoming film have been in the public domain since 2020. For a start, Your Lie In April fame director Kyōhei Ishiguro is on board to direct this romance. Next, Dai Sato will be handling the screenplay of the anime. Then, the character designing will be dealt with by Yukiko Aikei. Lastly, Kensuke Ushio will be the music composer on the project.

The casting names of WBULSP include Ichikawa Somegorō VIII in the lead role of the shy boy Cherry. Opposite to him, we can expect to see Hana Sugisaki as Smile. Moreover, Kōichi Yamadera will be playing Fujiyama in the Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop movie. Megumi Han will be voicing Bieber. Furthermore, Natsuki Hanae will be playing Japan. Finally, Yuichiro Umehara is voicing the character of Toughboy. Other team members include Megumi Nakajima as Julie, Kikuko Inoue as Tsubasa Fujiyama and, and Sumire Morohoshi as Marie.
