Exactly five months after the end of its previous season, Studio ILCA is ready to release Yamishibai Japanese Ghost Stories Season 9. Tokyo TV recently took to its official handles to share the news of the return of the show. Along with the announcement, some key images and release dates are also out. Here is everything you need to know about the new show.
Yamishibai Japanese Ghost Stories is also known as Theater of Darkness. It is an immensely popular Japanese horror anime show that first came out in 2013. The show involves different ghost stories from around the world. These were each presented in a six-minute format. So, when is the ninth season coming out? Let’s find out.
Yamishibai Japanese Ghost Stories Season 9: New Visuals Out!
The official website of Theatre of Darkness: Yamishibai recently shared new visuals from the latest show. Moreover, along with the classic series, a vertical edition of the show is also coming out this month. The screenshots from the vertical piece are also out. These visuals include spooky images of broken toys and other objects. The pictures point that the new season is going to be better than any of the other ones! Check out the images here:
Cast And Crew
The list of Yamishibai Japanese Ghost Stories Season 9’s cast members includes Kanji Tsuda in his usual role as the Storyteller. The rest of the team members include Toshimasa Niiro, Taiiichirō Matsumura, Masaki Sawai, Miho Okasaki, Tsubasa Kizu and Yukino Akaba. Aside from them, there will also be Shoichiro Oomi, Ryō Shinoda, Eimi Naruse, Rirunede, Hinaka Hoshina, Nene Naninu, Mikoto Hase, MoeMi, Ayaka Ōta, and Aozora Sorano. Since we don’t know much about the plot, the roles of these characters are not known.
As for the crew members, Akira Funada will be the director of the new season. The scripting team includes Mitsuhi Sasagi, Kanako Ishigami, Hiromu Kumamoto, and Megumi Yokoyama. Lastly, “Twilight feat. Pecori” will be the opening theme song of the show. Imai is presenting this single track.

Are you excited to watch Yamishibai Japanese Ghost Stories Season 9? If yes, then you don’t have to wait any longer. Yamishibai is all set to premiere next month in July 2021. However, Tokyo TV has not revealed a release date for the show. The date and time will likely be out by the last week of June. We will update this section as soon as a release date is out.
