Ao-Chan Can’t Study, aka Midara na Ao-chan wa Benkyō ga Dekinai, is a Japanese ecchi romance comedy anime series. Silver Link Studios adapted the manga series of the same name by Ren Kawahara to produce this anime. It only ran for twelve episodes from April 6, 2019, to June 22 of the same year. Since then, its fans have been anticipating the release of the following installment of the anime.

The anime’s debut season got a good response from the viewers. They liked the blend of ecchi and comedic elements along with a love story. However, it didn’t impress the critics that much. The fans of the anime have been asking for a sequel since the conclusion of its first season. However, the production company and the makers are still pretty tight-lipped. They are yet to announce anything concerning Ao-Chan Can’t Study Season 2. Its vast fan-following is pretty disappointed and is getting desperate because of the lack of information from the creators. As we mentioned above, Silver Link Studio used the plot from a manga series of the same title to create the anime series. The serialization of this manga series began in October 2015. Ren Kawahara concluded it in December 2018 after publishing a total of eight volumes. In January 2019, Ren released the sequel of the manga series as well. It concludes after publishing three volumes on April 17, 2020. The good news is that Silver Link Studio only adapted the plot from the initial manga. Therefore, now they can use the content from its sequel in order to create Ao-Chan Can’t Study Season 2. The remaining volumes have enough content for the plot of the anime’s sequel.
Ao-Chan Can’t Study Season 2: Will The Anime Return?
The very first season of this ecchi anime managed to impress the viewers but received an average response from the critics. It also has an average score of 6.78 on MyAnimeList. Even though the viewership was good. Plus, now the production studio can use manga’s sequel for the second season of anime as well. However, the only problem is that the sequel won’t have any source material to promote now. But if the anime gains more popularity and its demand rises, then it is likely that the producers will agree to invest in Ao-Chan Can’t Study Season 2. There is a good possibility that the show will return for another run and provide closure to its story.
