In July 2020, Sentai Filmworks, in collaboration with Ajia-do Animation Works, came out with the renewal announcement of Ascendance Of A Bookworm Season 3. Since then, all the official social media handles and websites are trying to keep the relevance of the show high. In the same chain, the makers have recently come out with new updates of the third season.
The 2019 anime is a direct adaptation of the 2013 Novel Series by Miya Kazuki. The original story itself has one light novel adaptation and four manga parts. Now, the third season is also set to release very soon. The makers have come out with a new visual and some staff updates of the anime. According to the official synopsis from the Crunchyroll website, the anime follows the story of a nerd high school student Motosu Urano who aspires to live the life of a librarian one day. But much like a classic Isekai trope, a series of unfortunate incidents lead to Urano getting transported into a magical world. In this world, she is reincarnated in a poor family. Thus, the story follows her daily struggles to make a living.
Moreover, Motosu makes it her lives aim to provide books to the poorest in any way she can. Ascendance Of A Bookworm Season 3 is likely to follow the same arc of Urano trying to open a library that is easily available to the children of the poor town. Staff Updates
Along with the visual, the official website of the anime has also released the updated list of the staff that will be working on the project. For a start, directors of the previous editions, Toshihisa Kaiya and Yoshiaki Yanagida are not working as directors on the season. The duo is only handling the character designing department for Ascendance Of A Bookworm Season 3. Along with them, Haruka Matsunae will also be a part of the character designing team. Moreover, Noriko Otake will be the chief animation director of the third season. Let’s see who Studio Ajia-do Animation Works brings in as the director.

The third season of the popular slice of life is all set to name the coming year in its name. According to the official statement, Ascendance Of A Bookworm Season 3 will release in April 2022. This means that we only have eight months to brew and discuss all the theories before they are out. Moreover, we will be sure to update you as soon as a solid release date is out. The anime is likely to air on its homegrown networks like ABC, Tokyo MX, and BS Fuji. Let’s see if Crunchyroll licenses the third season for a digital release or not.
