Baka And Test, aka Baka to Tesuto to Shōkanjū, is a Japanese romance comedy anime series. It follows its plot from the comedy light novel series of the same title by Kenji Inoue. Silver Link adapted this LN series into two 13-episode anime series. The viewers saw its first episode on January 6, 2010. Its second season premiered after a gap of a year and concluded on September 30, 2011.
Baka And Test Season 3: Renewal Status!
The anime show received a good response from the viewers and managed to get a lot of compliments from them. It was very well received by the critics as well. Yet, that wasn’t convincing enough for the makers to renew it for another run. Fortunately, they haven’t canceled it either. It’s been ten years, and the fans are still waiting for the production company to give them a response. They are yet to officially announce whether there will be Baka And Test Season 3 or not. Therefore, some of its loyal fans are still hopeful about its return.
Do The Makers Have Enough Source Material?
The serialization of the LN series began back in 2009. It ran till 2015, and before its conclusion, it has a total of 18 volumes. Out of these, six are the side stories, while the remaining twelve are the main stories. The initial two seasons of the anime series already exhausted most of the content from the main story. Therefore, Silver Link studio does not have enough source material to create Baka And Test Season 3. The remaining content won’t be enough for them to make another full-length season.
Baka And Test Season 3: Will The Anime Return?
The viewership and the ratings of both installments of this show were good. It holds a score of 7.59 on MAL. However, as of now, the show is not as popular as it used to be. During the last ten years, its popularity has decreased. The ending of the anime’s second season was conclusive, and the makers already hinted that it won’t return. Plus, there isn’t enough source material as well. Hence, as per the current situation, chances for the return of Baka And Test Season 3 are not very likely.
