Chainsaw Man franchise began with the original dark fantasy manga. The first chapter was published in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on December 3, 2018. The manga ended very recently, on December 14, 2020. The anime adaptation by Studio MAPPA is also due next year. Before that, fans are eager to read the new novel.
Buddy Stories: What Is It About?
According to the official details, Chainsaw Man Buddy Stories is the debut novel in the Chainsaw Man franchise. The novel is set to follow the stories of three different characters. Written by Sakaku Hishikawa, the plot will revolve around three pairs of buddies who encounter different conflicts and solve them with their companionship. It will feature Denji and Power as detective partners who go around in the city solving petty crime mysteries.
The pairs of the other two stories have not been revealed so far. However, fans are assuming that the other two stories will also feature popular characters from the franchise itself. In commemoration of the release of the new novel, author Tatsuki Fujimoto has released a new illustration of the cover of the novel. The cover features Denji and Power leisurely sitting in their apartment.

The final volume of the Chainsaw Man manga came out on March 4, 2021. This concluded the first chapter of the pilot manga. It is fairly rare for mangas to be in such high demand for a sequel. However, fans of this franchise are still aggressively demanding a sequel story. Immediately after the release of the final chapter, the makers announced the sequel called the ‘School Arc.’ However, since December 2020, there has been no news on this project.

The official release date of the new novel was announced way back during the initial announcement. Author Tatsuki Fujimoto himself has stated that the Chainsaw Man Buddy Stories novel will launch on November 4, 2021. Initially, the novel will be available only in Japan.
