The next episode of Demon Slayer is titled “Layered Memories.” As suggested by the last scene of the episode, Tengen and Daki are standing up against one another. Thus, it is obvious that a fight is going to break out between the two. This is the first time that fans will be able to witness the fullest potential of both Tengen and Daki’s powers. The Sound Hashira has been in action in the previous outings. However, standing up against an Upper Ranking Kizuki will demand more than just basic breathing techniques.

The twelfth episode of Demon Slayer’s second season opened with Tanjiro battling Daki. Without revealing much about the fight, the episode cut to Tengen comforting his wife, Hinatsuru. He learned that Daki was keeping his wife imprisoned under some kind of demon magic. In order to escape Daki’s cursed belt, Hinatsuru had tried to poison herself. But she ended up hurting herself in the process. Meanwhile, Tanjiro understood that his water breathing technique was incompetent in the face of Daki’s powers. Thus, he also unleashed the powers of Hinokami Kagura.
Daki was surprised to see how Tanjiro had managed to gain so much strength. The episode then cuts to Inosuke finding out about the food storage room where Daki had kept all the women. There, he also found Zenitsu trapped under Daki’s belt. Thus, he freed the fellow demon slayer. Together, they saved all the women. The episode ended with Tengen coming to upfront Daki and challenging her for a battle.
