Dota: Dragon’s Blood is animated fantasy series by Netflix. It is based on the epic MOBA game DotA 2 developed by Valve. Studio Mir of The Legend of Korra fame is collaborating with Kaiju Boulevard to produce the show. In addition, Production Reve is working on animating the series. The first season of Dota Dragon’s Blood came out in March 2021. And now, the second season is scheduled to release this year.
Dota Dragon’s Blood Season 2 New Trailer Out!
Dota Dragon’s Blood is based on the game Dota 2. The series came out in Spring 2021 with mostly positive reviews. Fans of the game and the series were informed in April 2021 that a second season would soon come out. However, no further updates popped up until now. But in the most recent update, Netflix dropped a new trailer announcing Dota Dragon’s Blood Season 2. In addition, the new trailer unveiled a release date for ‘Dota Dragon’s Blood Book 2.’
The new trailer featured all the major characters from Season 1 and hinted at a showdown between the heroes and Terrorblade. South Korean animation company, Studio Mir, joined American company Kaiju Boulevard to produce the show. The show features a mix of western animation with a South Korean touch. Initially, the show was supposed to release on January 6, 2022. However, the new trailer that came out on January 7, 2022 unveiled a new date. Take a look at the trailer here.
What To Expect In The Sequel?
Season 1 of Dota Dragon’s Blood ended with a plot twist. It revealed the story behind Invoker and his hatred towards the goddess Selemene. The season ended with an epic showdown between Terrorblade and Selemene. Elsewhere, in the Nightsilver Woods, the dragon knights capture Davion. Then, just as an uprising starts, the Elves revolt against Princess Mirana and Luna.
Season 2 will deal with the aftermath of the fight between Terrorblade and Selemene. Moreover, the goddess loses her powers during the dark moon eclipse. Princess Mirana, who devoted everything to the goddess, will return to Nighsilver woods. It is still unclear how she will react upon finding the harsh nature of the goddess. As hinted in the trailer, the second season will see Davion fighting his battle against Slyrak, the dragon he fused with. This battle could be a direct result of his capture by the other dragon knights.

Dota Dragon’s Blood Season 2: Release Date
Netflix first announced a second season for Dota Dragon’s Blood in April 2021. Later, they informed fans that the show would return on January 6, 2022. However, the new trailer that dropped recently unveiled a new release date. So now, Dota Dragon’s Blood Book 2 will come out on January 18, 2022.
