Shiva has blue or indigo skin in the original design of the anime. Instead of two, he has four muscular arms and three eyes. His third eye is vertically placed at the center of his forehead. Also, he wears a yellow sash on his head as bait to cover his curls. His hair is dark violet and messy, which gives him a rogue appearance. He wears yellow Sindbad pants and a blue belt on his waist. Shiva is usually depicted shirtless in most of his panels.

Personality

Although the character is supposedly based on the Hindu God, Ragnorak’s Shiva is a proud and mighty God. However, he has also displayed violent tendencies in many instances. Most of the time, he took a step back. However, it cannot be denied that he can be violent even towards Zeus. Powers

It cannot be denied that Shiva has great strength. His battle with Rudra had the sound of their punches echoing in heaven. And in his battle with Raiden, he was able to defeat the sumo wrestler despite his arm being crushed with Raiden’s guard up. He could also stand his ground, taking several blows from Raiden on the head.

Record of Ragnarok has made it clear that Shiva cannot die due to old age. However, he can be killed with other means. If ever the god faces death, he would be sent to Nifthel.

Shiva’s four arms grant him great agility and dexterity in Combat. He can use two arms to defend himself and two arms to keep attacking. This way, he has become highly skilled in Unarmed Combat. His highest record is of defeating 116 gods with just his fists.

Even in Hindu mythology, it is believed that Shiva is a skilled dancer. He can impart dance and the power of his four arms to bring about deadly moves. Some of these moves are given below in the techniques section.

Techniques

The following are some of the iconic techniques and moves Shiva has used in the course of the series.

This move is Shiva’s Trump Card. In Ragnarok’s intel, the Treasure of Svarga is a war dance. Only Shiva can perform this complex technique. In this dance, he dances to the rhythm of the cosmos. His attacks became faster as the technique progressed. Due to the unpredictability of his moves, the opponent is often confused. This gives the illusion that multiple enemies continuously attack him.

In this technique, Shiva uses intense dance moves to create raging energy. This causes his body to heat up and harness more power. This increases the power of his attacks and also burns the opponent to death.

This technique makes Shiva jump in the air and brings down a powerful dropkick. The power also simultaneously combusts his feet. If he ever comes upfront with this move, his opponent will be cut and burnt to death. The move is powerful enough to cauterize Raiden’s flesh, the strongest known muscle of the humans.

This is Shiva’s Ultimate secret technique. In this technique, he forces his heart to beat faster. Then he directly stimulates his atman to increase his speed and power. In addition to this, his body combusts and burns at a higher level than any other technique. Anything that is surrounding him will burn away to ashes. His attacks are hot enough to burn flesh in this heightened state, including Raiden’s powerful muscles. However, if used for too long, Shiva himself burns.

Also known as The Final Act Flame Dance, this technique involves Shiva performing a high-power spinning wheel kick as an extension of the Tandava Karma state. The kick is powerful enough to overwhelm Raiden’s Yatagarasu.

Battles

The following are some of the iconic battles with Shiva in Record of Ragnarok.

His battle with Rudra is notable. Although they were best friends, Shiva didn’t wish to harm Rudra. But once things became serious, their battle sent massive shock waves in Svarga. However, he faked his defeat, hoping Rudra would become happy. But Rudra forced him to fight seriously. When he did, Shiva ended up winning the fight and getting the title of the King.

Shiva Vs. Raiden was one of the most epic battles in Record of Ragnarok. Despite Raiden using 100% of his strength and courage, Shiva won the battle. His opponent was a sumo wrestler and the strongest muscle of humanity. However, he was only able to damage one of Shiva’s hands. In the end, Shiva made it to the victor’s spot on his own.

Relationships

The following are some of Shiva’s relationships with the other characters in Record of Ragnarok.

Rudra was Shiva’s best friend in Record of Ragnarok. In his youth, Shiva used to be lazy and carefree. He wanted to be the god of dancing. Rudra was the only one who could motivate him. Finally, they get to the peak of Svarga together to engage in a battle. However, Shiva didn’t want to harm him, so he faked his defeat. This led to Rudra becoming angry. So, Shiva gave his all and ended up getting the title of the King. Rudra also believes that Shiva is the nicest person he will ever find among the gods.

In the manga, three goddesses are depicted as Shiva’s wives. First is Parvati, who is the goddess of fertility. Kali is the goddess of time and death, who is his second wife. And finally, Durga, who is the goddess of war.

Although the Greek Pantheon denied Shiva’s fight three times, he restrained himself against Zeus. However, their bond did not default in any way. During Shiva’s fight, Zeus was cheering him on his battle with Raiden. This was enough to establish that they were at peace as friends.

Despite being rivals, Shiva grew to respect Raiden as a human. Brunhilde commented that they had similar personalities. Both of them did not want to let other people down. Thus, by the end of their fight, Shiva respected Raiden and thanked him by taking his full name.
