Flying Witch, also known as Furaingu Witchi in Japanese, is a slice-of-life surreal comedy anime series. It is an adaptation of Chihiro Ishizuka’s manga of the same name. JC Staff studio animated the first season of the series. It debuted on April 10, 2016, whereas the show met its conclusion on June 26 of the same year after a twelve-episode television run.
Anime Compared To The Manga!
The inaugural run of the anime remained loyal to its source material. Its pacing was also impressive. Chihiro Ishizuka began to publish the manga series back in August 2012. He has released a total of nine books so far, with the latest one being released in June last year. The anime’s first season only covered the plot of the initial 21 chapters of the manga. Its first season found its stopping point midway through the fourth volume.
Therefore, JC Staff still has content from five and a half volumes to produce Flying Witch Season 2. The remaining content is more than enough to create a full-fledged 12-episode anime series.

It has been five years since the release of the anime’s first season, but the demand for its sequel is still solid. The show got a tremendous response upon its arrival and received great reviews from everyone. It also has a good score of 7.52 on MyAnimeList and is ranked at #731 in popularity on the same platform. It is clearly showing the series has a huge fan following who are demanding the sequel. When its first season was premiered, the production studio didn’t have enough source material for it. But now they all the required content to make Flying Witch Season 2.
Therefore, now there are some chances that the makers will soon give this show the due green light. However, it has already been five years. So, the longer the time pass, the lesser the hopes of this show’s return will become.
