Getter Robo Arc is a Japanese mecha action sci-fi anime TV series. It is an adaptation of Go Nagai and Ken Ishikawa’s manga series of the same title. Bee Media and Studio A-Cat jointly animated the first season of this show. It came out on July 4, 2021. The anime’s first season ran for a total of thirteen episodes before ending on September 26, 2021.
Manga Compared To Anime
Ken Ishikawa and Go Nagai began the serialization of this manga series back on July 19, 2001. It ran for two years and ended on September 19, 2003. Throughout its run, the authors have released a total of three volumes only. Bee Media and Studio A-Cat already used all three volumes in the inaugural run of the anime. The adaptation was quite detailed and remained faithful to the source material till the very end.
However, the only bad thing is that now these production studios have nothing left to produce Getter Robo Arc Season 2. Besides, it has almost been two decades since the conclusion of this manga. So, there is no hope for its manga to return as well.
Getter Robo Arc Season 2: Renewal Status
The first season of this mecha anime failed to outperform other shows and ended up getting a below-average response. Most of the production studios analyze the ratings, popularity, and availability of the source material before renewing any series. When it comes to the ratings, Getter Robo Arc has a below-average score of 6.20 on MyAnimeList. The show is not that popular as well, and it only has 3.7K members in its MAl group.
Also, the first season of the anime adopted all the content from the manga. Now, the production studios have nothing left for the second run of the anime. Not a single factor seems to be in favor of Getter Robo Arc Season 2. Hence, the possibility is that fans will never get to see its second season.
Getter Robo Arc Season 2: Release Date
As we mentioned above, the probability of Getter Robo Arc’s second season happening is almost zero. So, only a miracle can save this anime now. If one happens, the producers might decide to give another shot to this show with an original storyline. In that case, Getter Robo Arc Season 2 might premiere sometime in 2023.
