This piece of news might distress many fans. This is because their favorite sports story is turning ten years old. That is right, Haikyuu will be completing ten years next month. The story first came out in 2012, backed by Weekly Shonen Jump. Thus, 2022 will mark the 10-year completion of the series. In order to celebrate the grand occasion, the makers have already dropped a wonderful piece of news. Both the anime and manga team combined is bringing ten new projects in the upcoming years. Haikyuu is one of the biggest sports franchises in the world. With its reach all across the globe, fans look forward to every announcement that comes out. The franchise was created by Haruichi Furudate in 2012. Production I.G.’s anime adaptation came out in April 2020. In a matter of months, the series was able to rise to the top.
Haikyuu Anime Commemorates 10th Anniversary
The official Twitter page of Haikyuu recently shared their plans on how they will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the franchise. The tweet confirms that ten projects are already in the works. In an extended thread, the makers also shared additional details about these projects. While four of these six projects were already announced at the Jump Festa 2022 event, the rest are yet to see a confirmation. The Haikyuu panel was keen on releasing follow-up updates on these projects.
What Are The 10 Projects?
At the time of writing, Haikyuu has only announced four projects at the Jump Festa event. The other six projects are yet to be disclosed. So, the four already announced works include a new Haruichi Furudate commemoratory visual for the series. The first glimpse of Kuroo and Kenma was shown in the event. The complete version will be released later on. The second project is the Haikyu!! Exhibition FINAL. The specifics of the event are yet to be announced.
The third announced project is a new Radio Web-Drama written by Haruichi Furudate. That mangaka had been working on the project for a long time now. Thus, the finished product will make its way to web-radio platforms by 2022. Finally, the most exciting of all the announcements was the new Haikyu!! × V LEAGUE Special Collaboration Match.
Haikyuu Anime: Release Updates
The Jump Festa panel did not leave out any release detail on these four announcements. The first character visual is lined up to come out with one of the releases later in 2022. For the second project, the Exhibition FINAL will run between February 16, 2022 – March 11, 2022. The timings and venue details will be updated. The third web-radio project will be coming out in 2022 as well. Lastly, V LEAGUE Special Match will also come out in 2022.
