Hatena Illusion is a Japanese romantic comedy anime series. It is the remake of Tomohiro Matsu’s light novel series of the very title. Children’s Playground Entertainment animated the first season of this show. Its inaugural episode premiered on January 9, 2020. The anime ran for 12 episodes, and after a lot of delays, it finally met its conclusion on June 4 of the same year.

As we stated above, the start of this anime was pretty solid. It raised the hopes of its viewers that the show would be pretty great. However, the anime didn’t turn to be that exceptional, but it was at least enjoyable. It has some positives, such as the characters and their designs. Plus, its environment gave a feeling of easiness to some viewers. The Hoshisato family was a unique one, and during their adventures, the audience witnessed a lot of silly jokes. Hatena Illusion’s main problem was its production issue. It began to lose quality as the series moves forward.
Also, there were a lot of delays that irritated its fans a lot. Overall, the show has nothing special to watch. However, it is a good option to kill time due to its light-hearted comedic elements.
Hatena Illusion Season 2: Renewal Status!
The inaugural installment of this show mostly received negative or mixed reviews. Both the audience and the critics didn’t receive the show very well. It has a poor score of 5.38 on MyAnimeList and doesn’t even have a total of 10,000 members in its group. These numbers are clearly showing that the show is not even that popular. On top of all that, the LN series only has four volumes and the production studio already exhausted all of that in the first season.
Another LN series came into existence in 2019, but it only has two volumes that are certainly not enough for Hatena Illusion Season 2. Therefore, it is likely that the anime won’t get a renewal due to the lack of popularity, source material, and poor ratings.
Hatena Illusion Season 2: Release Date
The chances for the return of this series aren’t very likely. However, if by any miracle, the makers decide to give it another show, then the productions will likely take at least more than one year. Therefore, if the green light comes, Hatena Illusion Season 2 might premiere in the first half of 2023.
