Hortensia Saga is a Japanese action fantasy anime series. It is an advertising anime for a free-to-play RPG video game of the same title. As a result, its story is partially based on the game. Liden Films animated its inaugural season that made its debut on January 7, 2021. It only ran for twelve episodes and concluded on March 25 of the same year.
Hortensia Saga Anime Review!
The first season of the anime series was quite ordinary. It has a lot of flaws, and the major one among them is its terrible pacing. The viewers find it quite annoying that the makers summed up this show without even explaining anything. The only good and different thing about this show are that it is a fantasy series without the elements of isekai in it.
All the characters are pretty sloppy except for Didier and Deflotte. Even the main antagonist of Hortensia Saga failed to make any impact. Along with all that, its story and animation are also pretty ordinary. It disappoints the majority of its viewers. Most of them dropped the show without completing it. Overall, the show is only good enough to kill boredom and pass your time as it has nothing special to watch.
Hortensia Saga Season 2: Renewal Status!
The first season of this show got a terrible response from the viewers. The critics didn’t like it as well. It has a poor score of 5.78 on MAL with less than 10,000 members. Therefore, the show failed in getting both the viewership and the ratings. The anime didn’t have any source material to follows as well. The debut season featured an original story loosely based on the game. Therefore, odds don’t seem to be in favor of Hortensia Saga Season 2. It is likely that the producers won’t invest in the show with that poor ratings and performance. So, it is very unlikely that its fans will ever see its sequel.
Hortensia Saga Season 2: Release Date
As we stated above, the chances are very less for this show to return. But if somehow, by any miracle, the production company renews it for another run, then Hortensia Saga Season 2 might premiere sometime in the second half of 2022.
