Right after Jujutsu Kaisen anime said goodbye this March, MAPPA Studios is ready with another product, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 The Movie. The production company and author Gege Akutami are joining hands once again to bring back the classic Jujutsu Kaisen story. This time, we are not going ahead with Itadori Yuji’s story. But there are new people that will star in the new film.
Recently, the makers of JK organized a celebratory event, Juju Fes 2021, after the success of their anime adaptation. The event also featured an announcement regarding the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen anime movie. The film will be a direct adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen 0 manga by Gege Akutami. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 The Movie: Plot Details
While the movie does not have an official synopsis, we can expect the film to follow the same story as its referral manga. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 manga describes the plot to revolve around a young boy Yuta Okkotsu. Even though his life looks completely normal from the outside, he hides many secrets from himself.
When Yuta was young, his best friend Rika turned into a Curse. Now, Yuta is followed by Rika’s ghost everywhere. A counseling expert from the Jujutsu High Academy identifies Yuta’s troubles and asks him to join the academy to fight this curse. Hence, Satoru Gojo becomes his teacher and teaches Yuta to fight the demon within his best friend. We hope that the film will do justice to the original story of Gege Akutami.

The latest character design by mangaka Akutami was made public in the Juju Fes 2021 event. The visual was revealed through a 30-second video with a voice-over that introduces the story. The picture depicts Yuta bound in the arms that might be his best friend, Rika. So far, fans are loving the character design of the protagonist. Their excitement is visible through the comment section of this video.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0 The Movie: Release Date
The event reveals many details about the new Jujutsu Kaisen movie. Luckily the film is not far away from the big screens. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 The Movie will release in Japan on December 24, 2021.
