Kakushigoto is a Japanese slice-of-life comedy anime series. It is the remake of Koji Kumeta’s manga series of the very title. Ajia-do Animation Works animated the debut installment of the series. The anime began to air on April 2, 2020, and continued to impress its audience until its finale on June 18 of the same year. Since then, everyone is excited to watch what happens in Kakushigoto Season 2.
Anime Compared To The Manga Series!
The narrative structure of the anime was quite different from the manga series. Unlike the manga, each episode of the anime has its standalone plot. They used a prologue to interlink the episodes with each other. Surprisingly, they adopted the manga’s ending as well in the final episode, which was also the best episode of its inaugural run. The manga series has a total of 12 volumes, and the anime used content from all of it. It goes without telling that a lot of chapters were skipped in its making. The manga concluded last year in July.
Therefore, now the production company only has the skipped content to use in Kakushigoto Season 2. The number of chapters is more than enough, but most of them are about daily life activities and don’t have any significant storyline.

The inaugural season of this show received an overwhelming response from everyone. It even exceeded the expectations of the viewers with its heartwarming content. They really liked the comedy elements of it and the depiction of the father-daughter relationship. As a result, it managed to get favorable reviews and high ratings. It also has a great score of 8.01 on MyAnimeList, and its overall rank is #530 on the same platform. No wonder why its fans are getting desperate for the sequel.
However, the conclusive ending of its debut season might turn out to be troublesome for its second run. Also, the manga series ended, and the production company won’t get any new chapters. The lack of source material might become the reason for the cancelation of Kakushigoto Season 2. Besides, the anime film is set to release this very year that might use the skipped chapters. Therefore, despite all the positive responses, the chances for the anime to return are meager.
