While fans are stoked over Kingdom Season 4, makers have doubled the hype with the launch of new designs for the fan-favorite characters. The 2012 release is a huge hit showcasing the journey of a young soul on his way to becoming recognized in the Qin Kingdom. Now, a renewal was confirmed long back in October 2021. Since then, fans have been longing for a fourth season. So, with the characters going through a change, will it delay the release? When can fans expect the show? Here are all the details.
Kingdom is a Japanese action anime based on a manga of the same name. The story is a creation of Yasuhisa Hara and revolves around the Warring States period of China. The highly popular manga with over 70 million sold copies got its anime adaption under Studio Pierrot. Now, with three seasons already out, makers are aiming for a change in their animation.
Kingdom Season 4 Launches New Character Visuals!
The news broke out on the official website of Kingdom anime. Hence, the three characters in focus are confirmed to return for the fourth season. The said characters are Xin, the main lead and, Ei Sei, the King of Qin. Lastly, Ō Hon, the general of the state of Qin, was also made a part of the launch. With the craze already peeking over the series, fans caught a hint of change in the animation style.
The three-season old anime series has been criticized constantly for its animation. On the other hand, manga has been praised worldwide and collected a huge fanbase. Studio Pierrot has also made changes in the staff members after the first two seasons. Coincidentally, season 3 was a bigger hit compared to its past releases. Fans also noticed a glaive in the hands of the main lead in the new visual.
Who Is Joining The Cast And Crew?
Studio Pierrot made a few changes in their staff members and assembled a new team for the third season. Hence, Kingdom Season 4 might feature Kenichi Imaizumi in the director’s seat. While Noboru Takagi handles the script writings. Lastly, veteran character designer Hisashi Abe might also be a part of the new team. The makers have greenlit none of the names till now. However, considering the success of the last season, the Studio is unlikely to make further changes.
The new visual release confirms Li Xin’s appearance in the next season. Hence, Masakazu Morita is part of the cast members. Next up, Jun Fukuyama will play Ei Sei once again. Rie Kugimiya and Kentaro Ito will be a voice for Karyo and Huan Ji, respectively, in the latest installment. Lastly, Yoshimasa Hosoya is the voice artist behind Ō Hon.
What Will Happen Next?
Kingdom features Li Xin as the main lead, who is a war orphan. The young boy resolves to excel in his works as a general and claims to be the greatest of all of them. A teaser visual made its way to the fans back in October 2021, with Sei Kyou as the main focus. Hence, the second king of Qin might be Xin’s next antagonist to face. Season 3 covered the Coalition Army arc; hence a new storyline can come into practice in the upcoming season. The anime might adapt four to five of the arcs in the manga. Hence, the next season might begin with the 12th arc of the manga, which is the Kyou Kai’s Revenge arc.
Kingdom Season 4: Release Date
Unfortunately, a release date is yet to be out in the public domain. However, an announcement confirming a release window has surfaced instead. So, Kingdom Season 4 will release this Spring 2022.
