Its last episode premiered on December 22, 2017.

Lerche Animation studio produced the inaugural season of this anime series. After the first season went off the air, the studio became tight-lipped regarding the anime’s future. Both the original and its reboot series have received a good response from everyone. It met with positive critical reception as well. Despite that, the makers haven’t announced the second season of the anime. The good thing is they didn’t cancel Kino’s Journey Season 2 as well. Since the anime series adapted the plot of its LN series, Lerche Animation Studio will need more chapters in order to produce the following season. Keiichi Sigsawa, the author of the LN series, has released a total of 22 volumes. The debut season has adapted various chapters throughout the first twenty volumes. But the makers still have more than enough source material to create Kino’s Journey Season 2. They can even extend Kino’s Journey beyond its second or third season. Thus, the fans do not have to worry about its source material.

The debut season of Kino’s Journey has a pretty decent score of 7.58 on MyAnimeList. The show is quite popular and also has an immense fan following. Its ratings and viewership were also good. Despite all these, the makers haven’t renewed the show in the past three years. Now, fans of the series are more worried about its future. But there are chances that the popularity and continuous demand of this anime series might bring it back. The fans don’t have to lose hope because there are chances that there will be Kino’s Journey Season 2. However, it is not certain as the final call will be made by the production company.
