Komatta Jii-San is a short Japanese comedy-drama anime series. It is an adaptation of Shinichirō Ōe’s manga series of the same name. Kachidoki Studio animated the first installment of the series. Moreover, the premiere episode of this anime came out on April 8, 2020. It ran for a total of thirteen episodes before concluding on July 1 of the same year.

Komatta Jii-San Season 2: Renewal Status
The first season of this short comedy anime received a great response from the fans. It got positive reviews from both the audience and the critics. Currently, the show has a score of 6.39 on MyAnimeList. However, since it is a short anime series, it failed to attract viewers. At the time of writing, the series doesn’t even have 4000 members in its MAL group. Also, the anime follows a manga series that only has one volume. The production studio already used its content in the first season.
Therefore, now they have nothing to use in Komatta Jii-San Season 2. Hence, now it is likely that the anime won’t get a renewal for the second season due to low popularity and lack of source material.
Komatta Jii-San Season 2: Release Date
The chances for the sequel to happen are very less. Now, the only hope lies is that the production studio somehow gets enough source material to make a new season. Only then will the makers decide to renew it for another round. If that happens, fans can expect Komatta Jii-San Season 2 to release by the end of 2022.
