Platinum Vision Studio followed the manga and produced the anime that made its debut on April 6, 2019. Its second season premiered after a gap of three months on October 5, 2019. Both these installments ran for 13 episodes each.

Fans usually prefer manga over their anime adaptation. However, it is quite the opposite in the case of musical shows like this one. During this period, Amyu has published a total of 23 volumes. The first two seasons of the anime have only adapted the plot till Chapter 54 of the fourteenth volume. Therefore, Platinum Vision still has content from the last nine volumes of the manga, which is more than enough for Kono Oto Tomare Season 3. Hence, the fans don’t have to worry about source material as there is plenty of it.

The previous run of the anime was really impressive. It met with great critical reception and managed to get a score of 8.42 on MAL. Currently, it is ranked #143 on the platform, which is quite impressive. There is a huge demand for a third season of the series. Plus, the production studio has the required source material.
