Well, it was certainly one of the best anime series of the previous year. The audience loved its protagonist and her adventures, and now they are getting desperate to see more of them.
Majo no Tabitabi, also known as Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina, is a Japanese adventure fantasy anime series. It is an adaptation of Jougi Shiraishi’s light novel series of the same title. Studio C2C took command of animating its first season. The anime made its debut on October 2, 2020. Its final episode aired on December 18 of the same year after running for twelve episodes. Since then, everyone is looking for the whereabouts of its sequel.
Light Novel Compared To The Anime
The anime remained quite faithful to its LN series throughout its run. Since there was a lot of content, the studio only adapted the fan-favorite ones. Some chapters containing important details were skipped, but in the end, it didn’t affect its plot in any significant way. The tonal shift in the third episode of the anime did surprise the viewers a bit as the show suddenly became a little dark.
Wandering Witch’s first season adopted the first three volumes of the LN series. It also used a chapter from the fifth book. Currently, the light novel series has a total of 17 volumes, and it is still in the run. Therefore, Studio C2C has more than enough source material for Majo no Tabitabi Season 2. They can even make three or four more installments of the show with the remaining content.
Majo no Tabitabi Season 2: Renewal Status!
As we mentioned above, the inaugural season of the anime got a great response from the audience as well as the critics. It received several positive reviews. At the time of writing, it has a decent score of 7.55 and is ranked at #663 in popularity on MyAnimeList. These figures are certainly impressive and are more than enough to get this show a renewal. According to the leaks, the makers have already greenlit Majo no Tabitabi Season 2 earlier this year in March. However, this news is yet to be confirmed officially.
But after the brilliant performance of the first season, it is only a matter of time for the anime to get a renewal. Fans will likely hear the official announcement regarding Wandering Witch’s second season this very year.
Majo no Tabitabi Season 2: Release Date
If the rumors mentioned above turn out to be true, then fans won’t have to wait for very long to see the sequel. In this case, Majo no Tabitabi Season 2 will likely premiere in the first half of 2022. Otherwise, the adventures of Elaina will return to screens by the end of the next year.
