My Dress-Up Darling Anime is back with yet another trailer release. The anime was announced long ago, but the constant video launches and visuals have kept the hype long going. The anime series will be based on a manga of the same name. It revolves around Gojo, who has an interest in the art of Hina doll-crafting. So, he meets Marin in his high school, who aspires to do cosplay but lacks the art to make clothes. Marin then asks Gojo for help, and soon they join hands. This anime adaptation comes from a manga written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda. The author began the serialization of his work in 2018, and it is compiled into eight volumes as of now. Studio CloverWorks took up the text soon enough and is currently producing its anime adaption. Now, the makers are finally ready to launch the show. Hence, awaited fans are excited to watch the premiere of the brand-new anime series.

The makers of My Dress-Up Darling anime have released another video on their official YouTube channel. The official trailer came out on January 2, 2021, and unveiled the release date of the upcoming show. Previously, the producers had already hinted at a January 2022 release, and the trailer confirms this detail. The video features a closer look of the series and depicts the plot once again.

The announcement also came with a key visual. This is the second poster after its release last October. The poster has both of the main leads in the same frame and a black dress in Gojo’s hands which Marin is seen wearing in the trailer. The video announces the theme songs of the series. The opening song is Spira Spica’s San San Days whereas, Akari Akase’s Koi no Yukue takes up the end part. Fans are already calling Miran this season’s “best girl.”

Who Is Joining The Cast & Staff?

A cast and staff list have also been revealed who will join the team of slice-of-life anime series. The artists voicing the characters include Hina Suguta as Marin Kitagawa. Next up is Shouya Ishige playing Gojo Wakana. Lastly, Atsumi Tanezaki will voice for Sajuna Inui whereas, Hima Youmiya will take up the role of Shinju Inui.

Staff members who are working for the behind-the-cameras team follow Keisuke Shinohara as the director. Secondly, Yoriko Tomita is the scriptwriter, while Akiko Fujita handles sound direction. The CloverWorks production company has assembled a highly able team for the upcoming show.

What Is The Plot?

The story focuses on Gojo, who has had a terrible childhood incident that ruins his passion for traditional doll-making. He is lonely and makes no friends as he grows older. Now, he is in high school and likes a classmate of his. Here, another main lead, Miran, enters the story. He finds her to be a total alien from a different world because of how different their personalities are. In addition, Miran loves cosplaying and wants to pursue it; however, she lacks the skills to make clothes.

One day, Miran approaches Gojo as she notices him sewing. And thus, reveals a secret of her, i.e., her love for cosplaying. Miran requests that Gojo helps to sew clothes for her, which he agrees to. The series also features Sajuna and Shinju Inui as side characters. Fans are yet to know where the plot will resume from here. The January release will bring a lot of revelations.

Fortunately for the fans, the recent trailer release brought a definite date to the upcoming show. My Dress-Up Darling Anime will begin broadcasting on and from January 8, 2022.
