Parasyte anime, aka Parasyte-the maxim, is a Japanese sci-fi horror anime series. It is the remake of the manga series of the same title by Hitoshi Iwaaki. The manga won the award of the Best Manga back in 1996 and has sold more than 11 million copies in print so far. Finally, in 2014, Madhouse announced the anime, which made its debut on October 9, 2014. It ran for 24 episodes, and the last one aired on March 26, 2015.

Parasyte Season 2: Renewed?
The debut season of the anime received an exceptional response after its release. Its viewers, as well as the critics, praised the show for its storyline, character development, and soundtracks. Therefore after its end, the fans thought that they would get its second season in no time.
However, that didn’t happen. It seems like Madhouse Animation Studio is satisfied with the end, they provided to the anime. Plus, in several interviews, the makers denied the arrival of Parasyte Anime Season 2. So it is clear that the makers canceled the show and have no intention of reversing their decision.
Will Parasyte Anime Ever Return?
The main reason behind the cancelation of the second season is the lack of source material. The manga of this series has only ten volumes, which have 61 chapters in it. And the Madhouse Studio already used all of them in the plot of its initial season. Therefore now they have nothing to adapt for Parasyte Season 2. Unfortunately, Hitoshi Iwaaki is also not interested in advancing the story of the manga after providing a proper conclusion to it.
The only left hope is for Madhouse Studio or any other animation studio to pick up the series and continue it with an original story. If it happens, then they have to build a new story from scratch, and that too in continuation with its first season. So, the chances of Parasyte Season 2 to happen are extremely low. However, the situation will completely change if the makers changed their mind.
