The 15th episode of Platinum End is titled “Diffused Power.” The last episode finally reveals the face of the little boy with Metropoliman and immediately calls the latter a “dummy.” This phrase likely means that he is the mastermind behind Metro after all. Metro’s death came very early and proves that the final villain is yet to come. Plus, there are speculations that the masked boy might be the next antagonist that Mirai has to face.
However, another detail is Metro’s angel, whose actions also raised eyebrows. Her sudden promotion to such a huge position might signal her involvement with the mastermind. The 14th episode of Platinum End begins with Mirai and Metro on the verge of a fight. Mirai questions if he is fighting the real Metro, to which the antagonist reveals his face. Mirai recognizes his face, and the battle begins. This decides who becomes the next God. Red attacks Metro with his blade and realizes Metro has been hit before. This leads to him chalking out a new plan and unleashing his wings to hide Metro’s vision and lock his right hand. This prevents him from locating his target or launching a blow.
Metro asks for Meyza’s help, but she cannot interfere. Saki later joins the fight and tightly grasps Metro’s hand. The duo then clasps his hands together while Mukaido prepares to shoot this arch enemy. In his final moments, Metro begs for a turnaround. He mentions his sister and promises to pay a lavish amount to Red and Yellow for his freedom. Lastly, he mentions not wanting to be a God anymore. However, all his pleads go in vain as Green shoots Kanade. With his only mission in life finally achieved, Mukaido takes his last breath too.
