Despite the average response and reception of the series, the production company renewed it for the second season. Rail Romanesque is a Japanese slice-of-life anime series. It is an adaptation of the visual novel titled “Maitetsu” by Lose. Saetta animation studio produced the first installment of this show. The viewers saw the premiere episode of this anime on October 3, 2020. Moreover, it ran for 12 episodes before ending on December 19 of the same year. After the anime, the makers released an anime spin-off game as well.
Rail Romanesque Season 2: Renewal Details & Cast Updates!
Last year in December, the officials announced that Suzushiro would return soon to the screen in the sequel of the anime series. Not only that, but the official announcement also revealed that some new characters would also join the cast of Rail Romanesque Season 2. The fans will see a new character named Kaniko. Her character is based on the C11202 steam locomotive. Moreover, famous voice actress Rie Tanaka will lend her voice to this character.
The rest of the cast of the anime’s second season includes Sumire Uesaka’s Suzushiro, Aya Uchida as Ran, Aya Suzaki as Kiko, and Ai Furihata as Iyo. We will also get to see Yurika Kubo as Riiko, and Tenchim as Shirogane.
What’s The Show About?
The story of this anime is set in the year 1989. It is the time when modern technology began to emerge and enabled the revitalization of the nation of Hinomoto after its destabilization. Now, people use aircraft, gasoline engines for transportation. However, this reduced the use of railroads as it has been replaced by other modes of transportation.
In Rail Romanesque, a group of Raillords decided to bring back the lost glory of the railroads. These raillords are energetic and spirited girls and act as humanoid control modules. They even organized a summit in Ohitoyo city which was led by its main character Suzushiro.

Rail Romanesque Season 2: Release Date
Earlier, when the production company renewed the anime for its second installment, they didn’t reveal anything about its release. The series is still in production, and if it goes smoothly, the sequel won’t take long to return. As of now, fans can expect Rail Romanesque Season 2 to premiere by the end of this year or in early 2022.
