Wit Studios animated its first season that ran for a total of twelve episodes. It began airing on January 12, 2018 and concluded on March 30 of the same year. Jun Muyazuki began the serialization of the manga series on June 27, 2014. The final chapter of this manga was released on March 19, 2018. During this timespan, the author has published a total of 10 volumes. Koi wa Ameagari no You ni’s first season used a total of five volumes of the manga series. However, the season finale provided an original ending to the series that is slightly similar compared to the ending of the manga series.
Wit Studio still has five more volumes, but the ending of the anime didn’t leave any doors open for them. So, basically, the studio has enough source material for After The Rain Season 2, but it is of no use as the storyline has already met its conclusion.

The probability is high that it won’t happen, but if the makers ever renew it due to demand and popularity, then fans will likely see the premiere of After The Rain Season 2 sometime in 2024.
