Senryu Girl, also known as Senryuu Shoujo in Japanese, is a slice-of-life romantic-comedy anime TV series. It is the remake of Masakuni Igarashi’s manga series of the very title. Studio Connect took command of animating the first season that came out on April 6, 2019. It had a standard run of twelve episodes before meeting its conclusion on June 22 of the same year.
Senryuu Shoujo Manga Compared To Its Anime Adaptation!
Masakuni Igarashi, the author and the illustrator of the manga series, began the serialization of this series on October 19, 2016. The manga ran till April 22, 2020, and ended after releasing its thirteenth volume. On the other hand, the anime series did follow the manga, but it made a lot of changes. It didn’t even follow the sequence of the chapters and skipped several of them as well.
The first season of Senryuu Shoujo found its ending point in chapter 41 of the third volume. But it did use contents from Chapters 45 and 70.5 in the previous episodes. Fortunately, there is no need to worry as Studio Connect still has a lot of content to make Senryu Girl Season 2. They might even make two or three more installments of the anime if they want.
Senryu Girl Season 2: Renewal Status
The first season of this romantic comedy began to receive compliments with the release of its first episode. It started pretty well and managed to carry that momentum till the twelfth episode. As a result, it met a positive critical reception and got a lot of great reviews. At the time of writing, it has a pretty decent score of 7.40 on MyAnimeList. Senryuu Shoujo is quite popular as well and has more than 148K members in its MAL group. In fact, it is ranked at #1158 in popularity on the same platform.
The demand to see its sequel is continuously increasing, and the production studio has enough source material for it as well. Therefore, the creators of the series don’t have any reason to cancel Senryu Girl Season 2, and it should definitely be on the cards. There is a possibility that the official announcement of its renewal will take place this very year.

It is likely that Connect won’t make the fans wait for a long to see the sequel of this romantic comedy anime. Fans can still hope that the studio starts the production of the forthcoming installment by the end of this year or earlier next year.
