Well, the first volume gained massive popularity, and fans were clamoring for the second volume. Fortunately, Lucasfilm fulfilled their wish. At the “A Look Back At Star Wars: Visions,” panel, the studio announced that the second volume was on its way. The panel took place at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California. Shortly after this, the official Star Wars Twitter page confirmed the news by posting a red-colored Star Wars: Visions logo instead of the blue color.

The franchise has been expanding beyond its limits, and the anime adaption helped them carve the story as they like. It will once again utilize animation styles around the world. We can expect that some of the animation movies will come from Japan. But there’s also hope that other parts of the world will also participate. It includes the UK, the United States, South Africa, Spain, Chile, India, South Korea, and France.

Earlier in the event’s “A Look Back At Star Wars: Visions,” the Lucasfilm’s Senior Vice President for Franchise Content and Strategy, James Waugh, talked about the anime series. James stated that he could guarantee everyone that Star Wars and anime have a bright future. He also acclaimed that the audience is more interested in Star Wars anime. So it’s better to come up with volume 2.

James Talked About Series Renewal

Back in 2021, James discussed the possibility of the second volume of Star Wars. He stated that the possibility of the second volume depends on the audience’s response. James also cited that he would love to do more such stories, but everything depends on the fan’s reaction. He also stated that he and producer Kanako Shirasaki loved the shorts and wanted to explore this world more.

Well, no doubt the audience liked the series a lot. As soon as it hit the streaming platform, the series gained a positive response. It garnered 7.1/10 on IMDb. Meanwhile, on Rotten Tomatoes, it gained 96% and 77% on Google. Apart from this, Star Wars: Visions topped the best anime of the 2021 chart. Thus there’s no doubt why Disney+ wanted to return with the second run.

Star Wars: Visions Volume 2: What Will Happen Next?

As of now, the animation studio hasn’t revealed which storyline the upcoming season will feature. But in an interview back in August 2021, the executive producer James Waugh revealed that they are aiming for the larger Star Wars timeline. He stated that each piece of Star Wars would influence the future of the story. So it will have some connection one way or another. So it seems like the creative team is looking forward to integrating Visions into some time of timeline storytelling.

However, James added that he had no clue how things would move or whether the Visions would become a part of the historic old Star Wars saga. James also stated that there is hope that Visions could open more stories that could be outside of the main Star Wars canon. So he believes that there could be more non-timeline storytelling which will help fabricate this version of Star Wars.

Will It Continue With The Ninth Jedi Story Arc?

Well, each episode follows a different storyline which has no connection with each other. Each episode told the story of a different timeline and galaxies. Further, it expanded the universe most wonderfully. One such episode explored the story of the ninth Jedi. Well, such a storyline can easily work on their spin-off, especially Jedi’s storyline. So there’s a chance that the return of Jedi could be played in the upcoming season.
